How FinCamp handles your data.

FinCamp is designed to collect as little data about you as possible. This page explains what we do collect and why.

Who is responsible

FinCamp is run by an independent creator based in Ireland, who is responsible for the personal data described on this page. You can contact us at [email protected].

What we do not do

  • There are no accounts, and we do not ask for your name or email to use the site.
  • The calculators run in your browser. The numbers you type are not sent to us or stored.
  • At the time of writing, the site does not use advertising or analytics cookies, and does not load fonts or scripts from other companies.

What is stored in your browser

If you use the light and dark theme button, the site saves your choice in your browser (in local storage), so that the next page looks the same. It stays on your device, it is not sent to us, and it is not used to track you. You can remove it at any time by clearing your browser data.

If you email us

If you write to [email protected], we receive your email address and whatever you put in your message. Please do not send passwords, bank details or other sensitive information.

  • Why we use it: to read your message and, where we can, reply to you.
  • Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering people who contact us, and, where you ask us something, taking the steps you request.
  • Who else sees it: your message passes through our email forwarding provider and the mailbox that receives it (for example, an email service provider). They handle it under their own privacy policies and may process data outside the European Economic Area.
  • How long we keep it: up to 12 months, unless we need to keep it longer to deal with a specific issue. Then we delete it.
  • We do not sell your email, add you to a mailing list, or share it for marketing.

What the hosting provider may see

Like every website, the company that hosts FinCamp receives basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address and browser type, to deliver the pages and keep the service secure. This is handled by the hosting provider under its own privacy policy, and it may process data outside the European Economic Area. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure website.

Your rights

Under data protection law you have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to our use of it, and to receive it in a portable format. Email us at [email protected] and we will answer within one month.

If you are not happy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.

Changes

If we add features that collect data, such as analytics, advertising or a newsletter, we will update this page first and explain what changes.
